  • The JSE All Share Index closed on 76 282 on Monday 13 June 2023. This is 2.61% lower than the 78 330 on 12 May 2023.
  • 1 US Dollar will cost you R18.53; 1 Pound = R2323 and 1 Euro = R20.00.
  • Annual consumer price Inflation is on 6.8%.
  • The prime lending rate in SA is 11.75% per annum.
  • The price of Oil is $67 per barrel.
  • The S&P500 index has now strung together four straight weeks of gains.
  • Improving news locally: Eskom is on a better financial footing, the restructuring of the power utility is gathering pace, and the inflation and interest rate outlook has become more favourable.
  • It’s easy to lose perspective when you are in the middle of a challenging situation over which you don’t have control. Feeling powerless to change adverse external circumstances can drive you to ‘want to do something’. When it comes to your money, panic selling could cost you dearly. The lesson here is: don’t get emotional with your money.
